Biography
Eric Levintow is an operatic tenor and guitarist. Eric is a member of the Regular Chorus at the San Francisco Opera. This year at SF Opera he will appear in La bohème (cover Parpignol), Idomeneo, Rigoletto, Dead Man Walking (cover Inmate #1), Parsifal, and The Monkey King.
Past work includes Prince Ramiro (La Cenerentola), Ed McCaughan (¡Chicanísima! by Carla Lucero) with Quinteto Latino, Borsa (Rigoletto), Nemorino (L’elisir d’Amore), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Spoletta (Tosca), Alfredo cover (La traviata), Rodolfo (La bohème), Gastone (La traviata), Antonio (Das liebesverbot), Tamino cover (Magic Flute), First Sailor (Dido and Aeneas), Yamadori (Madama butterfly), Dorvil (La scala di seta), Leandré (Le médecine malgré lui), Sky Masterson (Guys and Dolls), Sid Sorokin (Pajama Game), Steve (Hair), Al (A Chorus Line), Bobby Strong (Urinetown), Harold Hill (The Music Man), and Doc (Most Happy Fella).
As a graduate student at the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music, Eric sang Judah (Lost Childhood) by Janice Hamer, Bishop of Puebla (Juana) by Carla Lucero, Jo the Loiterer (The Mother of Us All), Tenor soloist (Songfest by Leonard Bernstein), and Tenor soloist (Coronation Mass). He performed in masterclasses with Matthew Aucoin, Lisette Oropesa, and Plácido Domingo; the latter was featured on The California Report radio show on NPR.
In addition to singing, Eric plays guitar and banjo for musical theater productions and concerts around the Bay Area. Shows played include RENT, Legally Blonde, Spring Awakening, The Wedding Singer, Footloose, Pippin, Once on this Island, Chicago, West Side Story, Newsies, and Matilda.
